Hello 👋 , I’m Adrian Adamkovic

I’m a Software Engineer working on iOS apps and living in New York City. I have 13 years of experience as a Software Engineer, and for the last 10 years I have specialized in iOS platform development.

I’m huge technology enthusiast, especially mobile development on the Apple platform. I have a master’s degree in Computer Science and Informatics. I love working closely with design and product teams to make polished iOS apps for iPhones and iPads. I write my code mostly in Swift and have extensive knowledge in Objective-C as well. I also have experience in databases and SQL Server development. Most recently, I worked on the Consumer and Contributor apps for Shutterstock.

Some of my other interests include playing soccer, watching movies, computer games, exercising and practicing meditation. I am originally from Slovakia, and have lived in Prague, Berlin, and New York. Currently, I live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The Shutterstock Consumer app was built for artists, designers, social media experts and marketing managers to help search, discover, purchase and download stock images on iPhones and iPads. I worked on the app since the beginning of the project (2014) and was involved in development of every major feature as a Senior iOS Engineer. Most of the app was fully rewritten in Swift and built upon Model–view–viewmodel (MVVM) architecture.

The Shutterstock Contributor app helps artists to upload new images to the platform directly. Users can monitor their sales, as well as the performance of their portfolio and work. I was involved in the development of the app since beginning and helped build every major feature. Most of the app is written in Swift with some parts written in Objective-C. The app is extensively using Core Data technology.

I worked on both Consumer and Contributor iOS client apps from scratch. Both were mainly built in Swift with some code in Objective-C. The Consumer app was fully rewritten using Model-view-viewmodel (MVVM) pattern. I was Involved in the full product life cycle from design and development to deployment and fixing bugs. I architected major components of the app and maintained Jenkins CI servers and scripts.
